Trailing Tidestone |
You quest for the Tidestone... it intrigues me. More than that, it suits my needs quite well. I have been in need of a champion for a very, very long time.
It is decided, then. I shall join you. We will have to head east, through Nar'thalas. Shall we depart? Quest Objectives Escort Prince Farondis to the Ruins of Nar'thalas. |
Talk to Farondis to start the quest: "You must excuse my attendants. Their brusqueness is not directed at you... it is toward me."
You'll tell Farondis, "Let's go find that Tidestone." |
Before you leave, Farondis will say to his court, "I am taking my leave, nightwatchers... though I doubt you will miss me."
He'll tell you, "Stay close, <Name>. Do not leave my side." If you get too far from him, you will have to start the quest over.
When you get to the road, Farondis will comment, "Hmm. How long has this road been flooded? I must have the groundskeepers attend to it."
You'll reach some citizens on the road out to Nar'thalas. It's obvious that they don't like him. "You have some nerve showing your face around here," one will say.
The citizen will spit on Farondis. He'll respond, "I... I am sorry."
At some points, you will get ambushed by Hatecoil naga. Farondis will warn you when they spawn.
You'll pass more citizens, who will call Farondis a coward.
Another citizen will say, "You did this to us, Farondis."
Trailing Tidestone |
He will respond with, "I only did what I thought was right."
As you approach the ruins of Nar'thalas, there will be a group of guards. One of them, Nightwatcher Taldrys, will say, "Hold right there. We will not let you into Nar'thalas again. Not after what happened last time."
Farondis will reply, "I beg your forgiveness, Thaldrys." From this conversation, we begin to understand the reason Farondis' people hate him so much. "You sundered the land we called home. You denied us the release of death. Ten thousand years of damnation for ten thousand elves. All because of your foolish alliances and botched politics." "What can I do to make amends?" Farondis will ask. "I doubt there's anything you can do now, prince." |
Perhaps this was a mistake.
