The Dreadlord's Prize |
Kathra'natir escaped my grasp, but I know what his next step will be.
He seeks an ancient relic called the Forge of the Guardian, used for centuries by the Council of Tirisfal to infuse their power into the Guardian. The forge was hidden away, its location known only to the Council themselves. Now the dreadlord has this knowledge. We must go to the Violet Hold. I only hope we are not too late. Quest Objectives Defeat Kathra'natir in Violet Hold |
Follow Meryl to the Violet Hold in Dalaran. As you go, he will tell you about the Forge of the Guardian, "We must make haste to the Violet Hold. I will explain along the way."
"In ages past, the Forge of the Guardian was a source of great power for the Council of Tirisfal."
"When the Legion learned of the forge's existence, the Council knew it had to be hidden somewhere safe."
"It was secreted to the Violet Hold. Not only was this the most secure location in Dalaran, it was a place few would think to look."
"It seems my fears were well-founded! The dreadlord is already inside. We must hurry!"
Follow Meryl into the Violet Hold. |
When you enter the Hold, Kathra'natir is waiting. Meryl will yell, "It's over, dreadlord. Your evil reign ends here!"
Kathra'natir will yell back, "Pitiful wretch! You should have brought an army! What can one little mage do against the might of the nathrezim?"
At this point, you will need to fight Kathra'natir. He's elite and pretty tough. Don't be afraid to blow all of your cool-downs such as Timewarp, and Icy Veins if in frost spec.
Once you defeat him, Meryl will freeze him in place. Meryl will then say, "Nice work! Now destroy the rifts siphoning power from the forge!"
These rifts are around the edges of the room with purple lines going to them. There are four of them. Destroy these to advance the scenario. |
After the rifts are destroyed, the Forge of the Guardian will appear in the center of the room. Click on it to activate it.
As you are absorbing power from the Forge, another person named Alodi will say, "Take my power, champion! Banish this demon back from whence it came!"
At this point, Kathra'natir will break out of the spell, and will begin fighting Meryl again. Join in to help him. As you defeat Kathra'natir, he will escape, yelling, "Fool! The Legion will know your secrets..."
"Count your days, mage. I will return!"
At this point, you will lose control of your body and you will Alodi will appear.
Meryl will say, "Alodi!"
Alodi will say, "It is good to see you, old friend. Though I wish it were under better circumstances."
"The dreadlord's defeat is only temporary. Once he regains his strength in the Twisting Nether, he will seek the forge again."
Meryl says, "Then I know what must be done..."
They will walk to the Forge. "Alodi, we need your help. We must take the Forge of the Guardian to a safer location."
After they transport the Forge, you will be taken to the Hall of the Guardian which is to become your new order hall.
Alodi and Meryl will appear and Alodi will say, "The Hall of the Guardian! It pains me to see it in such disrepair."
Meryl will say, "The hall hasn't seen any use since the disbanding of the Council of Tirisfal."
"The wards protecting this place are still strong. I think it will serve our needs."
Alodi will say, "And what is your plan?"
Meryl will respond, "I shall reform the Tirisgarde. And this mage will be its first champion."
Meryl will turn to you and say, "What say you, <Name>?"
The Dreadlord's Prize |
You will then be able to turn in the quest.
In times past, the Council of Tirisfal called upon the Tirisgarde, the protectors of Dalaran, to do battle in the Guardian's absence.
It is clear now that the hall of the Tirisgarde must be rebuilt to face this new threat. I need your help to accomplish this. First of all, you'll need to know how to get to this hall. I will show you. Rewards You will learn the following spell: Teleport: Hall of the Guardian |
