High Priest Venoxis
Venoxis was the second of the two priests that Zanzil planned to bring back from the dead. You have already succeeded in destroying the body of High Priestess Jeklik... Venoxis must be the nest.

Go through the arch in front of you and up the stairs. A the top you will find only the high priest. Zanzil will appear behind you. He'll say, "You're back for more, huh? Too bad, because I've got a stronger potion mixed up this time! Venoxis will live!"

You'll need to defeat Zanzil at this point. You won't be able to defeat Venoxis. Once you have defeated him, Zanzil will say, "Nooo! Zanzil is a failure." The Shade of the Hexxer will also have some dialogue as you defeat the two.
You'll be stuck in combat for a moment as the Shade of the Hexxer appears in the courtyard with you. He'll say, "Hakkar grows impatient. And so do I." |
He'll go on to say, "You may have slain Jeklik, but you will not leave Zul'Gurub alive."

At this point, the Shade of the Hexxer (notice he's got a skull marker for a level, so don't try to fight him) will cast a spell on you. A ladder will also appear next to you, and Bronwyn from the League will say, "What are you doing down there? Quick, grab onto the ladder! That troll doesn't look to friendly!" She'll then take you back to the Explorers' League Digsite to turn in the quest to Maywiki.

I ask you to slay Zanzil the Outcast, a lowly, hermetic exile of the Gurubashi, and what do you do? You dash headfirst into the Gurubashi capital and eliminate one of their High Priests! Very nearly two! Only one word suffices to explain such a rash and foolhardy endeavor:
Heroism. Jin'do the Hexxer still walks within Zul'Gurub's walls, but he lost one of his legs when you crushed Jeklik. Today's battle is ours. |
