Cooking the BooksDeliver Gul'dan's Library of Chaos to Cordana at Zangarra and ensure they are destroyed.
Description Marottie, we've got to destroy these tomes. Many of them have actual tormented souls bound into the pages, so we can't just burn them. Cordana will know what to do. Take these books to my tower in Zangarra and give them to Cordana. Let me know when the deed is done. |
Now that you've spent weeks grinding LFR for the stupid tomes, you can now take them to Khadgar in your garrison shipyard. He will instruct you to take them to Cordana in Zangarra, Talador to be destroyed.
Upon arriving at the tower, a mage outside will inform you that it is dangerous to enter the tower at this time, and that Cordana has labeled it as off-limits. You must enter the tower anyway. |
Once you enter, you will find Cordana standing in the center, doing something with the Orb of Dominion (which we retrieved in an earlier quest).
You talk to Cordana. You can either ask her to destory the tomes straight off, or you can ask her what she's doing with the orb. If you do not ask her about the orb, she will skip the some of the following dialogue. "I am busy, <name>. Finish your business here and move on." I chose to ask her about the orb. "...What are you doing with the Orb of Dominion, Cordana?" |
Asking Cordana about the Orb will prompt her to "explain". "Nothing. Nothing that concerns you. I have this under control"
Now you ask her to destroy the books. "Khadgar wants you to destroy these books." |
Asking her to destroy the tomes will then prompt her to start going into some dialogue.
"Books. Yes, Gul'dan's tomes. Are you sure Khadgar didn't try to use them? |
"Books of power...books of knowledge...books written in the language of chaos...Don't you worry, champion, all will be destroyed."
Cordana says, as she sets the books in a circle around the room. |
She then asks you for your current legendary ring...with no explanation other than she needs it.
"Now, give me your ring. I need it. Give it here!" |
"Yes, your ring. THE ring! The one Khadgar has been cooking up for you since we arrived on Draenor.
Give it here. I just want to...borrow it." Not exactly comforting, is it? She also explains that she has looked into the Orb of Dominion and has been shown Gul'dan's plans. You can then tell her no with differing amounts of forcefulness...the first two times I did this quest, I chose the second option..."Oh, HELL no!" Just telling Cordana no does not change her response. |
With that response, Cordana becomes furious, and casts a demonic star on the floor and bubbles herself, making her immune to all attacks. She becomes aggressive that this point.
"Then I will TAKE it from you! For the Glory of Gul'dan!" |
Cordana then goes on a long rant about Khadgar. "Khadgar is just a child, swaggering around, torturing his prisoners, playing with lives, dabbling in magics he pretends to comprehend."
|
In order to attack Cordana, you must first destroy the tomes she is using to shield herself. Once those are destroyed, you may attack Cordana herself. However, she doesn't die. Instead, she casts a portal behind her and leaves.

"Very well, walk away. Nothing will stop Gul'dan, for the Legion stands behind him. Mark my words: Your leaders will betray you. AZEROTH WILL BURN."
Maybe a hint to the upcoming Legion expansion? |
Since Cordana has betrayed us, you must now return to Khadgar with the news that she is gone, but the tomes have been destroyed. You will find him in your shipyard.
|
<Khadgar's face falls as you describe your encounter at the tower.>
Cordana? Oh no no no...She's been very distant lately. I just...I thought it was part of her stone-cold warden routine. I didn't realize... Ah, <name>! You see? This is exactly what Gul'dan does. He finds our weakness and turns it against us. Be careful who you trust. Ah, Cordana! <Khadgar turns his eyes to the sea.> Cordana. |
